WHY CHIROPRACTIC?
Nervous system controls your entire body, and chiropractic care helps restore nervous system integrity. Chiropractic care seeks to restore proper control and regulation of your body so health can return, naturally by realigning spinal vertebrae that have moved out of place (subluxation). Furthermore, it is widely recognized as one of the safest non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neck and back pain, and other musculoskeletal pain. In addition to musculoskeletal pain, chiropractic care has been known to relieve pain and help a variety of health issues.
Furthermore, there has been a growing body of evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of chiropractic treatment over the past decades. Above all, chiropractic care is natural and drug-free approach to pain relief without risks of addiction and overdose of prescription drugs (ie. opioids).
Overall, chiropractic adjustments are an excellent therapy to keep the body functioning at its optimal level. When the body is in alignment, the body is able to respond and perform more efficiently so chiropractic patients can experience positive benefits, such as overall increased bodily function, better balance, more energy, increased physical performance, and improved coordination.
It makes sense to correct the underlying cause, rather than fool the body with drugs.
WHAT IS a SUBLUXATION?
A subluxation is the improper motion or position of spine segment affecting nerve communication between your brain and your body.
There are three basic causes of subluxations.
- Physical causes: slips and falls, accidents, repetitive motions, poor posture, and improper lifting.
- Emotional causes: stress, anger, sadness, and fear.
- Chemical causes: Alcohol, drugs, pollution, toxins, and poor diet.
These subluxation can cause stress to surrounding supporting structures such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and spinal joints. When spinal segments lock up, muscles go into spasm, and nearby nerves are irritated. As a result, this nerve irritation interferes with the regulation of your body and distorts communications between the brain and parts of your body. These distorted nerve communications can cause many health problems beyond just headaches, neck pain, and back pain. For example, pinched nerve communication going to or from your stomach can cause digestion disorder.
It is essential to have a healthy spine free of subluxation for optimal health. Only a chiropractic examination can detect subluxation. And only chiropractic adjustments can reduce the interference to your nervous system, naturally.

WHAT KIND OF TRAINING DOES A CHIROPRACTOR HAVE?
Educational and licensing requirements for doctors of chiropractic are among the most stringent of any of the health care professions.
Doctors of chiropractic are educated in nationally accredited, four-year doctoral graduate school programs through a curriculum that includes a minimum of 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory and clinical internship. Like other primary health care doctors, chiropractic students spend a significant portion of their curriculum studying clinical subjects related to evaluating and caring for patients.
This extensive education prepares doctors of chiropractic to diagnose health care problems, treat the problems when they are within their scope of practice and refer patients to other health care practitioners when appropriate.
